I have ten years’ experience as a communications and events director for nonprofits and schools, as well as experience in teaching, operations and special projects. A few of the projects I’ve completed in the past decade:
- Served as lead writer and project manager for a successful charter school application for a personalized learning middle school opening in Fall 2016
- Worked with a growing organization to establish brand, visual identity and voice, create an extensive collateral set, launch an e-newsletter, integrate cost-effective social media solutions, and grow distribution lists and online following
- Updated an organization’s annual report from 8-page tw0-color newsletter to 16-page full-color brochure
- Directed the website redesign for a leading local education nonprofit and created a full suite of complementary collateral materials
- Researched the development of a teacher certification pathway for an organization’s AmeriCorps members working in schools
- Wrote and laid out 100-page handbook used to train 400 new teachers
When I’m not working with world shakers, you can find me on the stage at Jones Hall with the Houston Symphony Chorus, in the woods with students as a volunteer trip leader with The Woods Project, savoring Houston’s great restaurant scene, and traveling the world.
